Biodiesel is an advanced biofuel that is renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. As a diesel substitute, biodiesel provides engine lubricity improvements while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Our biodiesel is produced through a patented process known as transesterification, in which vegetable oils are heated with alcohol in the presence of a catalyst to yield mono-alkyl esters (biodiesel) and glycerin. Biodiesel feedstocks can be vegetable oils, rendered animal fats, algae oils as well as used cooking oils and greases.
FAME biodiesel has varying degrees of unsaturation which are susceptible to oxidation
FAME biodiesel absorbs atmospheric moisture, increasing the risk of microbial attack over time
FAME biodiesel is prone to waxing in cold temperatures, impairing its usability
